Eversource 2025 ‘Main Streets’ Initiative Connects New Hampshire Businesses with Affordable Energy Efficiency Upgrades
Sep 4, 2025
MANCHESTER, N.H. (September 4, 2025) – As part of its ongoing commitment to helping customers across the state take control of their own energy use with optimized solutions, Eversource is bringing its premier small business energy efficiency initiative, Main Streets, back to New Hampshire this September. Following a successful kickoff event in Manchester, Eversource is now partnering with Keene and Portsmouth to connect small business owners with approved contractors who offer energy assessments to discuss upgrades that lower energy use and reduce costs.
“We’ve worked with Eversource for the past three years, and we’ve had a great experience with them,” said Mary Winning at the Manchester Collision Center, who participated in Main Streets earlier this year. “This is our first time with the Main Streets program, and the experience has been great. Getting an assessment was simple and the team was very easy to work with and readily available, so for us, it’s been flawless.”
Following the Collision Center’s assessment during the Manchester Main Streets event earlier this year, Winning has installed two new Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) to improve the energy efficiency and control of the Center’s heating and cooling system, an upgrade that was made possible in part thanks to the NHSaves™ incentives provided by Eversource.
Main Streets energy efficiency solutions start with a no-cost, no-obligation energy assessment to identify energy-saving opportunities for small businesses, such as LED lighting and controls. Some improvements can happen on the spot at no cost to the customer while more involved projects, like the installation of energy-efficient motor controls, are scheduled for a future date. Through the NHSaves programs, Eversource offers increased incentives for a range of energy efficiency improvements – up to 90 percent of project costs – and interest-free financing is available for any remaining costs.
Local licensed electricians contracted by Eversource will complete approved projects and ensure minimal disruption to daily business operations, and all high-efficiency products installed as part of this initiative include warranties for both materials and labor.
“We’re excited to bring Main Streets back to New Hampshire and work directly with small businesses to make energy efficiency more accessible and affordable,” said Eversource Vice President for Energy Efficiency and Electric Mobility Tilak Subrahmanian. “Energy efficiency upgrades can reduce energy usage and improve day-to-day operations – strengthening the bottom line for small and micro businesses and, in turn, helping to build more resilient local economies. We’re proud to partner with our communities to deliver solutions that benefit both business owners and the customers they serve.”
For many small business owners, Main Streets might be their first introduction not only to business incentives but to residential energy efficiency programs as well. All New Hampshire residents – renters and homeowners – are eligible for NHSaves incentives, services and support that can help them improve their energy efficiency. The Home Energy Performance program is a great place to start, connecting residents with energy experts to conduct safety tests, recommend improvements and help customers better understand their home's energy use.
The upcoming 2025 Main Streets schedule is below, but any business interested in scheduling an energy assessment in another New Hampshire community can sign up here.
