Following this week’s powerful nor’easter—the 10 th major storm of the season—which caused widespread outages and damage to the electric system, Eversource deployed more than 2,200 line, tree, and service crews across the state to work around-the-clock to restore power to its customers. Despite historic snowfall in parts of the state, damaging wind gusts, and extremely difficult travel conditions, the energy company has restored power to more than 99% of its customers using innovated tools to meet that milestone ahead of schedule. Since the start of the nor’easter on Monday night, Eversource has restored power to more than 243,000 customers by lineworker repairs and remote switching by system operators, and will continue to work until every customer in New Hampshire has their power restored.

As part of its ongoing emergency response to the mid-December snowstorm that has dropped more than a foot of heavy, wet snow across many parts of the state and created hazardous travel conditions, hundreds of Eversource crews are working around-the-clock to assess system damage and restore power as quickly as safely possible. The storm continues to cause damage to the electric system, with the potential for additional outages remaining until after the storm fully exits the state. The energy company is bringing in hundreds of additional crews, damage assessors and other resources that are arriving throughout Saturday and into Sunday, including shifting other Eversource crews from Connecticut and Massachusetts. As of 1:30 p.m., approximately 41,000 Eversource customers across New Hampshire are without power.

As part of a shared longstanding commitment to reducing energy consumption, the Winnipesaukee River Basin Program (WRBP) and Eversource today announced the completion of phase one of a project to improve energy efficiency at the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (NHDES) wastewater treatment facility in Franklin.
