Camaraderie and Community in Cold Water

The thing about New England beaches is that the ocean water is always cold—really, really cold. Even in the dog days of summer, Hampton and Rye feel chilly—you might charitably call it “refreshing”—compared to the warmer waters down south. But this isn’t July, it’s February. So what would compel hundreds of excited people to bolt into the frigid Atlantic in the dead of winter? As is often the case, it’s to support a great cause.
