Lindt & Sprüngli (USA) and Eversource Celebrate Energy Efficiency Partnership
Jul 11, 2023
Proactive energy strategy contributed to meeting significant greenhouse gas emissions & energy savings goals
“We’re proud to report on these significant energy efficiency results stemming from our partnership with Eversource,” said Davide Nicò, Vice President of Operations at Lindt & Sprüngli (USA). “Many of the completed initiatives have contributed to Lindt & Sprüngli’s 21% reduction of greenhouse gas emissions in the production process as reported at the end of last year. We continue collaboration with the Eversource team to build on this foundation for increased savings in years to come.”

“Combining strategy with funding support and technical expertise helps launch companies like Lindt & Sprüngli (USA) toward achieving their greenhouse gas reduction and energy efficiency goals,” said Eversource Vice President of Energy Efficiency and Electric Mobility Tilak Subrahmanian. “We’re committed to helping our customers reduce their energy use along with their impact on the environment, and projects like those with Lindt & Sprüngli (USA) are setting the example of solutions in action. We look forward to playing a role in proactive, strategic planning to help our customers and communities make smart energy choices for a more sustainable future.”
Lindt & Sprüngli (USA) and Eversource began a long-term planning partnership in 2018, signing the first shared Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and setting a foundation for Lindt & Sprüngli's (USA) energy efficiency and sustainability upgrades since. These joint MOUs represent an agreement between both parties to implement strategic energy efficiency projects to lower energy use and improve environmental impact.

From 2018-2020, Lindt & Sprüngli (USA) and Eversource’s energy-saving partnership almost doubled its original estimate to save approximately 3.5 million kWh annually for projects completed in that timeframe – resulting in 6.1 million in annual kWh savings over those three years. With an original goal of 1.4 million annual kWh savings, this second three-year MOU between Lindt & Sprüngli (USA) and Eversource signed for 2021-2023 generated the same result, more than doubling the original estimate with a projected savings of 3.1 million annual kWh once all projects are completed by the end of this year.
