The New England Women in Energy and the Environment (NEWIEE) Achievement Award honors and celebrates the achievements of women leaders in the energy and environmental fields. This year, our Director of Equity and Environmental Justice Lissette Andino will receive the Achievement Award during NEWIEE’s 13th Annual Awards Gala on April 25 at The Westin Copley Place in Boston.

“I am humbled to receive this award and am honored to be recognized by this distinguished group of women in energy,” said Lissette. “I’m proud to shed light on the important equity work Eversource is doing within the communities it serves and look forward to continuing to lead with purpose.”

In 2016, our Executive Vice President for Customer Experience and Energy Strategy Penni Conner received the NEWIEE Achievement Award.

Brick by brick, Lissette built a two-decade career in the energy spacemastering the details of the technical and financial aspects of utilities, and communicating with colleagues skillfully and thoughtfully at all levels of the business, as well as with our customers and stakeholders across the communities we serve. A go-to resource for her colleagues, Lissette always takes the time to help ensure the best service for our customers and communities.

Lissette's extensive experience and expertise includes:

  • Regulatory relations
  • Community relations
  • Strategic partnerships
  • Communications and outreach
  • Corporate philanthropy
  • Community engagement
  • Business and economic development

In her current role, Lissette is responsible for advancing our continued commitment to embedding equity in all our operations—engaging with leaders throughout the company to ensure that everyone on our team understands how to work through the decision-making process with this equity lens.

Lissette's commitment to being there for our customers and communities extends far beyond her role here at Eversource. In her free time, Lissette serves as a member of the Board of Directors for ARTE, INC. and the Greater Norwalk Chamber. She also previously served as Board Chair and Executive Board Member of the Central Connecticut Coast YMCA, where Lissette was the first woman and first Latina to lead as Chief Volunteer Officer in the organization's 157-year history. Her proactive, inclusive approach is exemplified by the Greater Bridgeport Latino Network, which Lissette founded and led after moving to Connecticut and identifying a need for networking opportunities where Latino professionals could share information and collaborate. Under her leadership, this non-profit, volunteer-driven organization has grown over the past two decades into a respected and credible resource that promotes opportunities available to Latinos statewide.
