Small Business Battery Storage in New Hampshire
Store clean energy generated by a supplemental solar system or provide backup energy
Incentive Options
Incentives can be applied towards the purchase of a battery system to help offset the costs of installation. Funding is limited and provided by the New Hampshire Clean Energy Fund.
To receive your incentive, you must:
- Install an eligible battery system using an approved manufacturer,
- Enroll your system in our demand response program through your manufacturer's app
- Participate in the demand response program for three summer seasons
Large commercial customers should email nhbatteryprogram@eversource.com for information on eligible models.
After the completion of the third demand response season, you are welcome to enroll in the ConnectedSolutions Daily Battery Program to continue participating in demand response.
Incentive Amounts
The incentive amount you will receive is based on the capacity of your battery, measured in kilowatt-hours (kWh). You will receive $250 per kWh, up to a maximum of $10,000.
The qualifying battery must have been purchased on or after October 1, 2022 to receive this incentive and is required to participate in demand response events for a minimum of three summer seasons.
Qualified Battery Models
In order to qualify for the enrollment incentive, your battery system must be from an approved manufacturer.
Enphase
Eligible models:
- IQ Battery 3 and 3T
- IQ Battery 10, 10C and 10T
- IQ Battery 5P
If you plan to pair an Enphase battery system with solar, the solar system must be single-phase with an Enphase inverter. More information is available on Enphase's program resources.
FranklinWH
Eligible FranklinWH models:
- aPower X
- aPower 2
Any solar system can be paired with a FranklinWH battery system. More information is available on FranklinWH's program resources.
Demand response events
Approximately 40 demand response events will occur June through September between 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. During the events, your battery will be discharged by the manufacturer to a level no lower than 20% of capacity. If there is an extreme weather event in the forecast we will not draw energy from your battery.
See last season's event calendar to learn what to expect in a typical demand response season.
Purchasing a New Battery
You'll start by selecting and purchasing an eligible battery. We recommend contacting an installer to work with them throughout this process.
