Demand Response Event Calendar
Learn more about what to expect in a typical demand response summer season through last year’s data.
Peak Demand Events
Demand response is a proactive approach to managing electricity usage by adjusting consumption in response to peak demand events, which are periods of high demand on the grid.
These events occur during periods when energy usage spikes. Examples include hot summer days when lots of air conditioners are running, or evenings when people return home from work or school and start using their devices.

A typical peak energy event lasts no longer than three hours and occurs between 3:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. The demand response summer season runs from June to September.
