Massachusetts EV Managed Charging Frequently Asked Questions
How and when will I be paid?
Payments are issued by paper check twice yearly. October-March charging rewards are paid around June; April-September charging rewards are paid around December. Please note that incentives are not applied as bill credits or rate adjustments.

What is the difference between the two tiers?
The level of participation you choose will determine the actions you need to take each month to earn rewards:
Off-Peak Rewards (Baseline Tier)
- Charge during off-peak hours at least 90% of the time
- Off-peak hours are anytime other than 1 p.m. to 9 p.m.
- Complete at least one 15-minute home charging session
- Earn up to $120 per year
Scheduled Charging (Advanced Tier):
- Limit overriding your charging schedule to charge during peak hours no more than twice
- Compete at least two 15-minute home charging sessions
- Earn up to $120 per year

Can I view my participation?
You'll receive a monthly participation email about three weeks after each month's charging data is collected.

How can I override my charging schedule? (For advanced tier users)
You can use your ev.energy, FordPass or BMW app to override your charging schedule and allow charging during peak hours.
- ev.energy app: select the 'boost' feature
- BMW app: select "Skip Smart Charging" on the ChargeForward Dashboard
- FordPass app: On the charging page, you'll see a "Start" button when your vehicle is plugged in but "waiting to charge" according to a schedule or event. Tap "Start" to override the schedule and begin charging immediately, even during peak hours.
How can I unenroll from Managed Charging
Before completing the 12 months or participation requirement you can email managedcharging@eversource.com with your request and reason for unenrollment.
After completing 12 months of participation please reach out to your program provider:

Which chargers or EVs qualify?
Are there additional incentives available if I have more than one EV in my household?
You may receive two enrollment incentives, or you may receive one Charger and/or wiring upgrade rebate and one enrollment incentive per utility account.
