Special Olympics

We value inclusive communities and support the work of Special Olympics to inspire people of all abilities

Connecticut

We have proudly served as the presenting sponsor of the Special Olympics Connecticut Winter Games since 1989.

Each year, our dedicated team of employee and retiree volunteers transforms the Windsor Operations Center into a snowmaking hub — laying out pipes, running machines around the clock and ensuring there’s enough snow for athletes to compete in cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.

They are the only volunteer group in the world that makes snow exclusively for a Special Olympics event.

The team spends nearly five months planning the competition, and their commitment has been recognized many times within the Special Olympics community. Several members have been honored with the Unsung Hero Award for their dedication.

Our volunteers also support the games on-site — cheering on athletes, assisting competitions and forming meaningful connections. You can read about one such inspiring friendship from last year’s event.

Our year-round partnership includes sponsoring the Penguin Plunge. In 2026, we hosted our first Mobile Plunge at our Berlin office, where employees bravely jumped to raise over $30,000 for Special Olympics Connecticut.

Massachusetts

Special Olympics Massachusetts empowers more than 19,000 athletes and participants to train and compete, and build lifelong friendships. Their work celebrates inclusion both on and off the field, and we are proud to stand alongside them.

Each winter, our employees take the “plunge” at our Westwood office to raise awareness and critical funds. In 2026, they belly-flopped and cannonballed into a chilly mobile pool — raising more than $100,000 for Special Olympics Massachusetts.

New Hampshire

We are the presenting sponsor of the Special Olympics New Hampshire Winter Games at Waterville Valley, which features a mix of outdoor and indoor athletic competitions. Each year, more than 130 of our employees volunteer to help manage the resort experience for athletes — assisting downhill skiers and snowboarders, timing cross-country and snowshoe events, setting up racecourses and cheering on athletes.

Our year-round support also includes sponsoring the Penguin Plunge, where employees and their families brave icy waters to raise awareness and critical funds, raising over $60,000 in 2026.
