Connecticut Light Duty Electric Vehicle (LDEV) Rates

Rates designed for LDEV commercial, industrial and municipal EV chargers

Program Overview

Installing EV chargers in your municipality or business can be a great way to attract customers and visitors, add value to your location, or build your electrified vehicle fleet.

Qualifying customers can also enroll in LDEV rates, and could save money when compared to our general service rate by helping to mitigate the effect of demand charges for low load factors.

Availability and Program Qualifications

These rates are available for LDEV commercial and industrial customers whose load is separately metered. LDEVs are passenger vehicles which have a gross vehicle weight rating up to 8,500 pounds.

To qualify, your chargers must be either:

  • Level 2 and Level 3 direct current fast chargers (DCFCs) that are available for use by the public, such as on-street parking spaces, public parking spaces in lots, or spaces in parking garages
  • Private use installations of DCFS and/or four or more networked level 2 chargers that are enrolled in Managed Charging under the Workplace & Light Duty Fleet Charging Program

You will be required to stay on the rate for a minimum of one year, after which you can cancel with one month's written notice.

Eligibility for this rate is subject to review and approval.

Available rates

Your rate will be determined by the maximum demand at your EV charging stations in the current or prior 11 months:

  • EV-S Rate - Maximum demand up to 100 kW
  • EV-M Rate - Maximum demand between 100 and 350 kW
  • EV-L Rate - Maximum demand of 350 kW or more

More information on all three rates is available.
