Connecticut Reliability Scorecards
We're committed to delivering safe, reliable and resilient power to our more than 1.3 million customers across Connecticut.
With approximately 23,000 total miles of electric distribution lines in the state, we work hard throughout the year to make our electric system smarter and more resilient to benefit you with fewer and shorter power outages.
These scorecards detail our performance in 2023 in each town, including primary outages causes, duration and frequency of outages, and our investments in reliability and resiliency work.

Outage causes (excluding major storms)
The top three causes of customer outages in 2023 were trees, equipment-related outages and pole strikes by vehicles.
In 2023, we enhanced reliability and resiliency by:
- Replacing transformers at substations to prevent outages and create additional power routing options during an outage.
- Proactively conducting tree reviews based on data and prioritizing trees for removal. We removed nearly 30,000 trees in 2023.
- Installing 43 smart switches that enable more precise isolation of outages to allow us to restore more customers faster.
