Honoring and Supporting Veterans

We have a proud history of support for veterans within our company and the communities we serve.

More than 830 veterans work here, representing every branch of the U.S. military. We recognize the tremendous contributions our veteran employees have made to our country and now make to the company.

Meet Tim Travis, U.S. Coast Guard veteran, who serves our customers and communities with passion and pride.

'Welcoming Home' Veterans BRG member John Porazinski and a large contingent of family and friends gathered at the Manchester Armory in Manchester, New Hampshire, to welcome John’s son and more than 250 National Guard reservists returning home from a nine-month rotation overseas.
The Eversource Veterans Association was a proud sponsor of the 2023 DAV (Disabled American Veterans) 5K Run to Honor Veterans at DCR Fort Independence on Castle Island in Boston. DAV helps more than one million veterans and their families each year in positive, life-changing ways, at no cost to them.
It’s with deep appreciation and respect that we honor our military members and their families, especially during the holiday season. For six years, we’ve participated in the Holiday Cards for our Military Challenge to write and sort holiday cards. In 2023, the organization celebrated sending the 1 millionth card.

Grants Helping Veterans

Each year our employees show off their skills at the Regional Rodeo and face off with peers from across the company in a variety of competitions for overhead and underground lineworkers, along with electric meter operations employees.  The Eversource Foundation and the Eversource Veteran’s Association each presented grants of $2,500 during the opening ceremonies to four regional organizations that help veterans.

Award recipients are selected based on how they respond to what’s most important to veterans in the workplace, as captured on the organization’s granular, objective, data-focused questionnaire.

For our efforts, we were awarded the second highest designation.

“The more than 830 veterans on our Eversource team bring experience, skills and a strong commitment to service that greatly benefits our customers and communities," said Paul Chodak, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. “It’s an honor to be there for our veterans who have given so much in service of our country.”
