National Sustained Excellence Award showcases company’s year-over-year leadership in delivering energy efficiency programs

HARTFORD, Conn. and BOSTON, Mass. (March 28, 2023) – Eversource is honored to announce that it has received the 2023 ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year Sustained Excellence Award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). This award is bestowed to ENERGY STAR partners for demonstrating consistent and outstanding leadership in delivering energy efficiency solutions through the program, and this is the eighth year that Eversource has won in Connecticut, third year in Massachusetts and the tenth year in New Hampshire.

“The Partner of the Year Sustained Excellence Award reflects Eversource’s commitment to being a catalyst for a clean energy future and increasing access to these critical energy-saving programs for all customers across our entire service territory in New England,” said Eversource Executive Vice President of Customer Experience and Energy Strategy Penni Conner. “Our partnership with ENERGY STAR combines high-efficiency products with effective incentive programs to help lower energy bills, reduce energy use and improve environmental impacts to the benefit of all customers. We’re grateful to ENERGY STAR for this recognition and to our customers for their continued participation in our energy efficiency and clean energy programs.”

“As we accelerate historic efforts to address climate change, public-private partnerships will be essential to realizing the scale of our ambition,” said EPA Administrator Michael S. Regan. “I applaud this year’s ENERGY STAR award winners for working with EPA to deliver a clean energy future that saves American consumers and businesses money and creates jobs.”

The highest honor given by the ENERGY STAR program, the Partner of the Year Sustained Excellence Award showcases organizations who make a long-term commitment to supporting decarbonization efforts and expanding access to energy efficiency. This year, Eversource was recognized for raising awareness of, and increasing demand for, ENERGY STAR-certified products and offerings in each of its states. In Connecticut, several programs were highlighted, including expanded promotion of energy-efficient retail products to elderly, bilingual, and low-income customers. In Massachusetts, the company was recognized for the reach and inclusivity of its Online Marketplace and retail products program, and Eversource was also honored for its emphasis on ENERGY STAR homes in New Hampshire.

Eversource and other winners will be celebrated by the EPA and DOE in an all-day social media event today, March 28, 2023. Winners are selected from a network of thousands of ENERGY STAR partners and are among the nation’s leaders supporting a clean energy economy and building a sustainable future.
