Eversource to Complete Substantial Restoration this Evening

Dec 20, 2023

Storm storm restoration

Energy company will continue working into the evening on final system repairs

BOSTON, Mass. (December 20, 2023) – Following this week’s violent storm that caused widespread damage across the region, hundreds of Eversource line crews and system operators have been working nonstop and restored power to approximately 225,000 customers since Sunday. The energy company has restored power to more than 99 percent of its customers in Massachusetts and expects to complete substantial restoration this evening. A list of town-by-town estimated times of restoration (ETRs) can be found on the website. Eversource crews will continue working to restore any remaining scattered outages this evening and will begin a demobilization plan that will enable extra crews to support ongoing storm restoration efforts in Maine.

“It was critically important for us to get power back on for our customers as quickly and as safely as possible before the Christmas weekend, and our men and women worked nonstop to make that happen,” said Eversource President of Regional Electric Operations Craig Hallstrom. “We can’t thank our customers and community partners enough for their patience while we coordinated this massive response over the last couple of days to get the power back on for them.”

Customers looking for outage information or who want to report an outage can do so online, or by calling 800-592-2000 in Eastern MA. Eversource is also reminding customers who may be doing storm cleanup to keep safety top of mind by always staying clear of any downed wires and by reporting them immediately to 9-1-1, as well as being aware of weakened tree limbs that could still come down around their property.
