“This upgrade project will create ‘automatic zones’- areas with equipment that can quickly reroute power if there is a problem - which will enhance electric reliability so customers have more dependable service,” said Eversource President of Connecticut Electric Operations Steve Sullivan. “By continuing to make strategic investments in the system and completing necessary tree work, we’re building a more robust and resilient electric grid that will serve our customers well into the future.”

The project is underway in the vicinity of Riverside Drive (State Route 12) and Wilsonville Road.  Crews are working Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will continue on that schedule – weather permitting – until the project is finished by the end of October.

Eversource continues to work closely with community leaders and customers where the project is being done to minimize potential impacts to traffic and coordinate with other roadwork happening in the community. Customers may experience short power interruptions at times during the course of the project so crews can safely perform the work. Any customers affected will be notified in advance by the energy company.
