Charitable Giving
To support our communities and make a positive difference in the lives of our customers, the Eversource Energy Foundation provides sponsorships and grants for events and programs in communities we serve.

How Can Eversource Support Your Organization?
The Eversource Energy Foundation accepts several types of charitable requests:
Eligibility Requirements
Organizations seeking a grant:
- Must be based within Eversource's service territory
- Must have a 501(c)(3) designation
- Cannot be a private foundation
Eversource does not make donations that support:
- Organizations that do not qualify as charitable organizations as defined by the IRS Code
- Fraternal and political organizations
- Golf outings (unless it's a fundraising event for a nonprofit organization)
- Capital projects
- Private foundations or endowments
- Reducing or eliminating a pre-existing debt
- Personal expenses related to events, conferences, travel, etc.
- Advertising
- Goods and services
The Foundation would not knowingly contribute to an organization that discriminates on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, age, national origin, disability, veteran status, marital status, sexual orientation, genetic information, or any other status or condition protected by local, state or federal law.
Generally there is a limit of one grant per organization in a 12-month period, with limited renewal of between 3 to 5 years.

Charitable Grant - $2,500 - $10,000
Eversource awards event and program-based charitable grants for organization that support one or more of Eversource's focus areas of giving:
- Community Wellness and Basic Human Needs
- Education
- Clean Energy and Environmental Stewardship
- Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
- Economic, Community and Workforce Development
Award Amounts
The average Eversource Charitable Grant is between $2,500 - $10,000.
Submission Deadline
Charitable Grant requests are reviewed three times a year and funding requests must be submitted at least 90 days in advance.
Approximately three weeks after the deadlines below you will be notified of the Review Committee's decision. Applications must be submitted through our online portal below.
Cycle 1: Submission deadline, April 11
Cycle 2: Submission deadline, July 11
Cycle 3: Submission deadline, October 10

Community Grant - $500 - $2,500
In addition to grants through our Foundation, Eversource Community Relations awards community grants for organizations that support one or more of Eversource's focus areas of giving:
- Community Wellness and Basic Human Needs
- Education
- Clean Energy and Environmental Stewardship
- Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
- Economic, Community and Workforce Development
These small-but-impactful grants have helped thousands of citizens in the communities we serve, addressing critical issues like hunger and homelessness, education, STEM programming, the environment, public safety and more.
Award Amounts
Community Grants are between $500 - $2,500.
Submission Deadline
Community Grant requests are reviewed on a rolling basis. Funding requests for a program or project must be submitted at least 90 days in advance. Applications must be submitted through our online portal below. Please visit the Community Relations page for more information.
