West Devon Junction to Devon Substation Rebuild

Why Are We Doing This Project?

This project is part of our continuing effort to address aging transmission line facilities in the Devon-Towantic-South Naugatuck corridor and improve system reliability.

We are proposing to upgrade energized wires (conductor), replace existing structures with new weathering steel structures, and replace shield wire with optical ground wire (OPGW).

Where Is The Work Being Done?

The proposed project spans 2.17 miles between the West Devon Junction off River Valley Road in Stratford to the Devon Substation on Naugatuck Avenue in Milford.

Traffic management plan

Removal and replacement of structures on River Road (Route 110) in Stratford will result in intermittent one-lane alternating traffic and road closures for approximately 15 weeks.

During the road closure, a detour to route traffic onto Main Street Putney will be in effect, consistent with approvals from the Town of Stratford and Connecticut Department of Transportation.
