Connecticut Medium to Heavy Duty (MHD) Electric Vehicle Rate
This rate is specifically designed for MHD fleet commercial, industrial and municipal EV charging stations, and could save you money when compared to our general service rate by helping to mitigate the effect of demand charges for low load factors.
Availability and Program Qualifications
This rate is available for Commercial, Industrial and Municipal MHD Fleet electric vehicles whose load is separately metered.
MHD vehicles have a gross vehicle weight rating of 8,501 pounds and greater. Typical MHD fleet vehicles are transit busses, school buses and local delivery vehicles.
You will be required to stay on the rates for a minimum of one year. After that, you can cancel with one month's written notice

Definitions and more information
The Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA) approved the Medium to Heavy Duty EV Charging Rates beginning on January 1, 2026.
An interval meter is required to be on the Medium to Heavy Duty EV Charging rate. If needed, this meter will be installed at no cost to the customer.
