Connecticut Energy Efficiency Educator Offerings

Connecticut educators can take advantage of our engaging, no-cost energy education programs. Teach your students to be energy smart using materials aligned with Next Generation Science Standards and Common Core Standards for Math and English.

Energy in Action Mobile Exhibit

An innovative mobile learning experience! Teaching children how to become an Energy-Efficient Generation by making smart, energy-saving decisions daily.

Students will learn how to make decisions that will not only manage energy, but will help the planet, too. They will witness and participate in mind-blowing, energy-saving experiments. As well as learning the benefits of becoming an energy-efficient community by being introduced to green energy sources to help save the future of our planet.

The Energize Connecticut Energy in Action interactive mobile exhibit can be booked at no-cost for a day or multiple days at your school or community event. Participants will attend a short presentation about the program then will walk through our interactive hands-on exhibits in groups of 12-15.

Energy Conservation with "The Power Squad"

"The Power Squad" is a 35-minute assembly about energy efficiency for students in grades 3-5. Two professional actors perform a series of comedic and educational sketches on the topics of energy resources and conservation. The actors use audience suggestions, participation and improv to shape a unique story with every in-school performance.

Students and teachers will also have access to an e-learning package that includes games, quizzes and lesson plans for the classroom to reinforce concepts from the show.

eesmarts Smarts Student Contest

Students express their energy smarts through a variety of formats, including poems, essays, news articles, book reviews, posters, images, speeches, public service announcements, and  community based projects.

All contest prompts align with Next Generation Science Standards and Common Core Standards for Math and English Language Arts.

eesmarts Curriculum Support

eesmarts lesson materials are available for students in grades K-12 to develop an energy-efficient ethic and encourage smart energy habits in the future.

The lessons feature materials for students, hands-on activities, detailed teacher lesson plans, extensions and evaluation tools, all designed to fit seamlessly into any class curriculum.

eesmarts can also connect you with a certified educator to deliver a lesson in your classroom. You can work with our educator to select the lesson that best aligns with your lesson plans and students.

Professional Development

The eesmarts program provides professional development workshops free-of-charge throughout the year to educators across the state of Connecticut for grades K-12. 

Workshops are led by the Capitol Region Education Council (CREC).
