Massachusetts EV Charging Rebate Application Process

You'll start by installing your EV charger, then work through our four-step rebate process.

1. Review the eligibility criteria

  • I charge my EV at a home that’s associated with my Eversource electric account​
  • The electrical work to setup home charging of my EV was completed on or after January 1, 2024​ 
  • The electrical work to setup home charging of my EV was completed by a licensed MA electrician​ 

2. Collect all the relevant documentation and information

  • Receipt for the charger
  • Photo of the charger device ID
  • Invoice from your electrician for the installation work. Make sure your invoice includes the charger cost, installation date, installation cost, contractor business names and address, and who should receive the rebate (you or the contractor)
  • If your contractor provided you with the rebates as an upfront discount, please be prepared to provide your contractors W-9​ 
  • Your Eversource account number, which is found in the upper left corner of your bill
  • In certain instances, you may be asked to provide a bill of sale, or another form of documentation to confirm the price of your electric vehicle at point of purchase 

3. Complete the online application for your charger and wiring upgrade rebates

  • We will email you three to five days after your application is received to let you know the status of your application

4. Once your application has been approved, you will receive your charger and wiring upgrades rebates

  • Your rebate will arrive as a check in the mail in two to four weeks
