Connecticut Matching Payment Program
Bill payment assistance for qualified Connecticut customers with electric or gas heating service.
Reduce Your Past-Due Balance
If you heat your home with electricity or natural gas and need help paying your energy bill in Connecticut, our Matching Payment Program can help.
You can maintain year-round electric or gas heating service and reduce your past-due balance with affordable monthly payments – as low as $50 for customers receiving public assistance benefits.

How it Works
To participate, you must be approved for and receive energy assistance from the Connecticut Energy Assistance Program (CEAP).
For every dollar you pay toward your bill, we will credit a dollar to your past-due amount down to a zero balance. So, you pay a portion, CEAP pays a portion, and Eversource pays a portion.
Eligibility requirements
- You must be a current Eversource residential customer and heat your home with electricity or natural gas
- Your household income must be at or below 60 percent of the estimated state median income
- You must have CEAP energy assistance funds applied directly to your Eversource account
- You must continue to pay your payment arrangement amount on time each month
