Tree Giveaway
We're committed to increasing tree canopy cover and greenspace in urban communities
Energy Saving Trees
We gave out nearly 1,000 free trees and shrubs to eligible customers, partnering with the Arbor Day Foundation's Energy-Saving Trees initiative.
The program allowed customers in our service territory who reserved a plant to view their property through an online portal and determine the best location for their tree or shrub to help conserve energy, as well as calculate estimated environmental benefits and annual cost savings.
We worked with city and town leaders to distribute trees in the following communities:
Connecticut
Manchester and Torrington
Massachusetts
Springfield and Waltham
New Hampshire
Keene and Rochester
What is energy saving trees?

The Energy Saving Trees program is a community tree planting program that encourages the strategic planting of trees for the greatest energy- and money-saving benefits.
The program combines trees with an interactive web experience to help homeowners and communities save energy and money by strategically planting trees to maximize their environmental benefits.
Right tree, right place
Planting the right tree in the right place is key to maximizing the energy-saving benefits that trees provide. When planted properly, a single tree can save a homeowner up to 20% on energy costs.
