Energy Rewards Request for Proposal (RFP) Program

The Eversource Energy Rewards RFP Program offers incentives on a competitive basis to our commercial and industrial customers who achieve measurable energy savings through the installation of energy efficiency measures.

Under this program, Eversource accepts proposals from the customer or any qualified party for electrical energy efficiency projects to be implemented at the facilities of commercial and industrial Eversource customers with a minimum monthly demand of 350 kW.

Each proposal must identify the incentive amount required from Eversource to go through with the project(s). Proposals will be evaluated based upon a benefit/cost review and other project review considerations. Non price variables include factors such as whether the project(s) include more comprehensive measures beyond lighting fixture replacements, and whether the project environmental impacts reduce on-site emissions or waste streams. Winning proposal(s) will be selected for the energy rewards based on an annual program budget.

Eversource commercial and industrial customers, energy service companies, and other third party service providers representing commercial and industrial customers are eligible to participate. The minimum project energy savings for this program is 100,000 kWh per year (may be aggregated across multiple sites), and the minimum total project cost is $150,000. Eligible measures include high efficiency lighting systems, motor variable speed drives, process or air conditioning system improvements or other measures that reduce annual electrical consumption. Measures that are not eligible include new construction projects, any power-producing project such as co-generation, fuel switching (switching from electric energy), any repair or maintenance projects, or any technology with a measure lifetime of less than 3 years.

Proposals include multiple projects that can be developed in a short period of time and still have sufficient detail to accurately estimate energy savings, project costs, and other parameters.

An annual bidders meeting is to be held on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at Eversource Energy Park, Manchester, NH. Bids are due by Monday, February 29, 2016. Proposals are selected in the second quarter, and all projects must be completed by December 15, 2016.
