Offshore Wind

One of the nation's leading developers of offshore wind, serving as a catalyst for clean energy throughout the Northeast

Sustain-wind-feature-card

We have at least 4,000 megawatts of total development opportunity in partnership with Orsted, the largest developer of offshore wind in the world. There are 1,700 megawatts under contract and in advanced development, including the first utility-scale offshore wind farms for New York and Connecticut.

Our existing projects will provide enough clean energy to power more than 1 million homes, with the ability to double that amount as we add additional projects to our lease area off the coast of New England.

Offshore wind is set to play a critical role in delivering well-paying green jobs and providing local economic investment that will benefit communities throughout the region as the country, and particularly the Northeast, look to meet ambitious clean energy goals.

Offshore Wind Projects

South Fork Wind

A 132MW offshore wind farm located 35 miles east of Montauk Point that will produce enough clean, renewable energy every year to power approximately 70,000 homes in New York.

Construction is expected to start in January of 2022 and fully operational in 2023.

Revolution Wind

A project contracted to produce a total of 704 MW of clean renewable energy for Connecticut and Rhode Island. Connecticut will receive 304 MW and Rhode Island will receive the remaining 400 MW, providing electricity for more than 350,000 homes.

The project is estimated to be fully operational in 2025.

Sunrise Wind

An approximately 924 MW offshore wind project that will supply clean, renewable energy to nearly 600,000 homes in New York.

Subject to U.S. BOEM’s Notice of Intent (NOI) schedule, we are currently estimating that Sunrise Wind will be fully operational in 2025.
