1191 LINE REBUILD PROJECT

Eversource is proposing to rebuild an existing transmission line between Frost Bridge Substation in Watertown, Conn. and Campville Substation in Harwinton, Conn.

PROJECT DESIGN

Maintaining infrastructure is one of the many ways Eversource supports the safe and secure transmission of electricity throughout the region.  Eversource is proposing to rebuild an existing 115-kilovolt (kV) electric line along approximately 10 miles of Eversource right-of-way, (transmission line corridor), between our Frost Bridge Substation in Watertown, Conn. and Campville Substation in Harwinton, Conn. The proposed project traverses the towns of Watertown, Thomaston, Litchfield and Harwinton.

The 1191 Line was originally built in 1933. The Project proposes to replace all original wood structures (97 in total), three steel structures and one lattice tower with new weathering steel monopoles. In addition, the project scope involves replacing the existing conductor (wire) due to age and condition.
