Connecticut Home Energy Solutions℠
Energy-saving improvements, custom recommendations, rebates, incentives and more for homeowners, renters and landlords
How it works
During a Home Energy Solutions℠ visit, an authorized contractor will evaluate the energy performance of your home and provide on-the-spot energy-saving improvements, as well as recommend additional opportunities to improve comfort and save energy.
Schedule a Home Energy Solutions assessment and service by March 31, 2026, and complete the visit by April 30, 2026 and we'll waive your copay. Depending on your home, this service may be completed in one visit or across two visits.
Home Energy Solutions now offers two participation models based on your availability and your home's size, age and condition:
- One Comprehensive Visit: Assessment, health and safety tests, on-the-spot improvements and air sealing completed in a single visit (if no barriers are found).
- Two-Visit Model: An initial visit for assessment and basic improvements, followed by a second visit for air sealing and additional approved upgrades. This model is required for two-to-four unit properties and may be recommended for larger homes or homes built prior to 1985.
Find the Right Option for You
Choose one visit if
- You want basic improvements and air sealing completed in one day
- Your home is average-sized (up to 2000 sq. ft.) and straightforward to assess
- Your home was built after 1985 and likely has no barriers (like knob and tube wiring, mold or asbestos)
Choose two visits if
- You want a more flexible, low-commitment way to get started
- You have a large (over 2,000 sq. ft.) or complex home
- Your home was built before 1985 and you suspect barriers (e.g. outdated wiring, mold, asbestos)
- You're planning advanced upgrades (insulation, heating/cooling equipment, advanced duct sealing)
- You are income-eligible (at or below 60% SMI)
- You live in a two-to-four unit property
- You participated in Home Energy Solutions more than six years ago and want to build on past upgrades

Income eligible customers participate through the two-visit model to allow for expanded services and upgrades.
Benefits and Savings
On average, participants receive products and services valued at $1,000 that lead to $70 to $100 in annual energy savings.
Plus, you'll get a personalized report with a U.S. Department of Energy Home ScoreTM and the Home Energy Guide with tips and information about deeper energy-saving upgrades like insulation and heating, cooling and water heating equipment and participating in Demand Response.
Based on your assessment results, you may qualify for generous rebates and incentives. Customers are eligible to participate in Home Energy Solutions if your home has not received these program services within the last six years. There is a possibility that a quality assurance inspector will be on site or will contact you post-service for an inspection.
