Understanding Supply and Delivery Charges
Your Eversource electric bill is made up of a supply charge and a delivery charge. These charges reflect your energy use from the previous month.
The supply charge is the cost of electricity you use. We purchase electricity from suppliers on your behalf and pass the cost directly to you, no profit added.
The delivery charge includes the cost of building, maintaining and operating the electric system, as well as public-policy fees that we are mandated to pass through to you.
Increased usage affects both the supply and delivery portions on your bill. As the amount of electricity you use goes up, the delivery charges also increase.
