Keene Transmission (D108) Line Rebuild Project

Project Overview

We will be replacing existing wooden pole structures in Keene, New Hampshire, as part of our ongoing investments to deliver reliable energy to our customers and communities.

This work will be taking place within the existing right-of-way (power line corridor) of the D108 line, a 115kV line built in 1954. The line is 1.38 miles long and starts at the North Keene Substation in Keene and ends at the Keene Substation, adjacent to Emerald Street, in Keene.

This project includes the replacement of 17 structures and installation of a new conductor (power line). We will also be installing fiber-optic cable, known as Optical Ground Wire (OPGW), along the length of the line to improve communications between substations.
