Eversource Policy Change for Electrical Contractors

Revised Residential Cut & Reconnect Policy as of May 1, 2018

Thank you for the work you do every day to assist Eversource customers. We are always seeking ways to serve our customers better, which includes streamlining how we do business. That’s why we’re pleased to announce that effective May 1, 2018; the Eversource Connecticut Residential Cut & Reconnect Policy is being revised. The new policy improves service to our customers by authorizing electrical contractors to reinstall electric meters that may have been removed after electric service work is completed. Under the existing policy, the use of service jumpers has resulted in estimated bills, which are frustrating for our customers. As you might expect, customers prefer to receive an accurate bill that reflects their actual energy usage. We’re also confident that minimizing the use of jumpers and eliminating the need to track removed meters will save time for electrical contractors. Your time and our customers’ time is valuable. This new policy respects that.
